08 11 08: Record numbers in Cross Country Relays.. A record 1169 teams entered the National Cross Country Relays this year, an excellent increase on last years record of 1018. Significant increases were seen across the board of the 10 events of the programme. 719 complete and 203 incomplete teams toed the start line compared with 692 complete and 152 incomplete teams in 2007 - an amazing 78.8% attendance. <read more here> The 2009 National Championships will be held at Parliament Hill Fields in the South of England on 21st February, and of course later this year on November 1st the National Cross Country Relay Championships will once again be held at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield.
The mens start at the 2008 National Cross Country Championships The 2008 National Cross Country Championships were held this year at Alton Towers and organised by the local club Staffordshire Moorlands AC under the auspices of the Midlands Territory.
Congratulations to all our Champions, be they individual or teams, and especially to Liz Yelling who took her fourth National title as a senior.
As part of our development of Cross Country, we continue to send both Junior and Senior England Teams abroad to further their running experience and athletic career. |
