Southern League Tooting 18/8/2018

Kent AC won their final SAL fixture yesterday, securing promotion to division 2 of the Southern Athletics League. Kent were convincing winners in yesterday’s match at Tooting but were pushed hard by St Mary’s Richmond.  Urgent phone calls were then made to check whether results had gone our way in the other fixture.  After a tense period of worry it was finally confirmed that Bexley had beaten our rivals Cambridge

British League at Nuneaton on Sat 2nd June 2018

British League at Nuneaton on Sat 2nd June 2018 A great result for the club on a warm, sunny day at Nuneaton, which was a new venue for us ,as we produced a fine 2nd place and that us into 3rd place in the league – only 1 point away from the top 2 promotion slots. We had a small team on the day, only 17 athletes, but it was well balanced with the

Southern League Bexley 2018

Second place for Kent AC today behind a very strong Bexley team.  We’ve now lost out twice to teams relegated last year from higher divisions.  Our points total of over 200 would have been enough to win some matches, so nothing to be upset about.  No doubt inspired by Dave Morgan’s rallying cry, our women’s team turned out in force, very nearly outscoring our men... I’m still excited by our

Southern League Sutton Apr 2018

Division 3SE of the Southern Athletics League is a difficult division to get out of.  There are 16 teams, all dreaming of the glory that comes with finishing in the top two promotion places.  It’s not easy to do that, last year you could afford to only drop one point all season.   So last season, although we didn’t know it at the time, our promotion push was effectively ended
