Gary Thornton had a superb run at the City-Pier-City half-marathon in The Hague. He set a club best time for the event and broke his PB by some four minutes in a top quality event, Haile Gebrselassie suffered a shock defeat coming second in 59:50. Gary clocked 1:04:42, with fellow compatriot Martin Fagan setting a new Irish record of 1:00:57, breaking the longstanding record of 1:01:05 set in 1988 by John Treacy.
Many congrats to Gary on this excellent performance.
