SL Match 3 Mile End

That's more like it. Third equal for the B team in a tight and high-quality match at Mile End on Saturday. A really good team spirit, twenty competing athletes, and some good individual performances made for the most satisfying result of the season so far in my book. There was even a Hen Night in the pub afterwards.

Kent AC Man of the Match went to Aaron McCammon, who narrowly edged out the other Aaron (Broderick) with his outstanding runs in the 400m and 4x400m, the latter sending us all home in a good mood. I don't know if there is a Southern League record for the widest age gap between team members, but the 41 years that separates Paul Kyberd and Josh Hall takes some beating.

On 27th June we're at Parliament Hill, north London, for what's probably the key match of the season. We're up against two teams who are just below us in the League; if we beat both of them, I reckon Division 1 status is safe again for another year. Now's your chance to email me and say you want to compete (A Team athletes welcome). Does anyone know any throwers?

Rob
