Track & Field

Kent AC compete at various levels of Track and Field competition. In 2007, our A team competes in the British Athletics League (BAL) Division 1. Our B team competes in the Southern Mens League Division 1, making it one of the highest placed B-teams nationally.

Our track runners, throwers and jumpers also compete at numerous open events across the year in both the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons.

The club is firmly rooted in South East London, with our home fixtures normally being held at Ladywell Arena, or sometimes in nearby Sutcliffe Park (which is just outside the Lewisham borough boundary in the London Borough of Greenwich).

Track B team escape relegation [1]

Great news, the B Team will still be in Southern League Division One next season. As we'd hoped, the creation of a new British League division means that only two teams (Winchester and WSEH) are being relegated, so we're safe.

Conrad Williams Barnet Copthall 2008 [1]

Sorry for the delays in getting this posted...

What a fantastic result! We were awesome and simply 'tore the rest apart' to produce our BEST EVER track & field result in the club's history.

Southern League 2008 final match report from Bournemouth [1]

Final match round-up from British Athletic's top columnist:

Pre-senile dementia is a terrible thing. I typed up the results, posted Larry's copy off to him with my extravagant expenses claim for the season, then forgot to email them to you lot.

Olympic Trials and National Champs [1]

The club was well represented in the National Champs and Olympic trials in Birmingham on 11th - 13th July. Jonathan Browne came 6th in his heat in the 100m in 10.79s. In the 400m Conrad Williams was 2nd in his heat in 48.

Southern League Report - Match 5 [1]

That's more like it. Some excellent performances and a third place for the B team at Ladywell on Saturday. We beat two teams above us in the League and got pretty close to two promotion contenders. With twenty competing athletes and loads of guests, there's life in the old dog yet.

Southern League match report from Chelmsford [1]

Oh dear, another bad day for the B team in Essex (is there any other sort of day in Essex?). We were up against exceptionally strong opposition and there were some good performances, but we'll always struggle in this Division when we can't fill all of the events.

Jeffrey AAA u23 Champion and T&F Round-up [1]

This years AAA's u20/23 champions and World Junior Trials was probably the most sucessful for Kent AC athletics. The atheltes suffered from a windy Bedford track with wind speeds of up to 6.8 which causes problems for those looking for qualifying times.

Juniors impress at the London Schools Champs [1]

A group of our junior runners impressed at the London Schools Championships on Saturday. Quasar Mays managed to win the inter boys 400 Hurdles in a seasons best of 64 seconds. It was a small field but you can only beat those who turn up.

Southern Champs [1]

Update from the Southern Track and Field champs at Crystal Palace, some great performances from Kent AC athletes with two gold and two bronze medals, including: Conrad Williams being selected to run at the European Cup in Annecy in the 4x400.
