We have a European Champion. Well done to John Headley who won the M40 800m at the European Masters Championships in Poland in a time of 1:59.97. Lincon Campbell also did well to come 5th in the M40 100m in 11.65.

Joe Appiah ended up with 4 medals in the M35 age group. Running 11.4secs in 100m semi's, he didn’t do the final as he had a hamstring problem saving himself for the long jump. He managed to jump 6.66m for Bronze, his hips gave in during the 1st few jumps. He got Bronze again in high jump 1.80m and got close to his pb in 110H (3.6 feet) 15.68secs for silver. Then part of GB 4x100m relay which won silver.

Overall, a very successful championships for the club athletes and Poznan in Poland is a great city with nice people and cheap food, drinks and accommodation.
