Sparkling sunshine, golden autumnal trees and softish going underfoot made this a perfect setting for cross-country running at Danson Park on Saturday 18th November.
A third consecutive win by the Junior team and another large team out by Kent A.C. athletes (9 Youths and Boys, 8 Women, 16 Men) were the highlights. The Junior team of Rawlston, 5th, Sylvan 6th, Peter 10th and Joe Rutherford 11th in his first ever cross-country gave them first place almost ensuring victory in the League. This would be the first time any Kent A.C. team has won a Kent League. Rawlston and Sylvan, now showing consistency, both had excellent runs. Rawlston once again displaying his trademark kick finnish.
It was pleasing to see a number of new faces donning the Kent colours for the first time, including Andrew Vagari, an Australian who scored for the Men's 4 to score team.
The Women's race was designated as the club championships. First home was Helen Dibble, 2nd was Andrea Jeffries and 3rd Virginia Bolls. The Women's team came 6th, the Boys' 7th while the Men's team lead in by Michael Claff consolidated their 3rd place in the League.
