Jeffrey Lawal-Balogun running for the England Athletics team edged closer to the men’s 100m qualifying standard of 10.45 seconds for the European Under 23s by winning in 10.51, five-hundredths ahead of his England team-mate Simon Farenden. He followed this by also winning the 200m A race in 21.14s.

This was 2 days after competing in Papaflesseia, Greece; coming 3rd in the 100m A race in 10.54 and 3rd in the 200m B race in 21.32.
