We achieved another fine third place at Newham yesterday and finished a lofty 14th in the final table. That's almost the mid-table mediocrity we dreamed of at the start of the season. We're the third best B Team in the country, narrowly behind TVH and WSEH, and we finished highest out of the five teams promoted from Division 2 last year. And all this with what must be one of the youngest teams in the Division and undoubtedly the most guest competitors.

Amongst the highlights of the final match were, unusually for us, the relays. Lincoln, Paul, Anthony and Victor set a new B Team 4x100m record, whilst Victor, Roger, Joe and Billy's determined performance in the 4x400m gave us the cushion over Ipswich we really needed. Peter and Keith made their B Team debuts, we got great points in the chase and 5k once again, and I'm not certain but pretty sure that Junior and Quazar ran pb's in the guest 400m. Victor and Paul shared the Man of the Match award, not just for their individual performances but also for their attitude as "senior" members in such a young team.

You'll be delighted to hear that I've already calculated the Man of the Season about three months earlier than I normally do. The winner once again, by some distance, is the swallow-diving phenomenon that is Trevor Jamieson-Agard with 67 points. Nice victory celebration, Trevor, just do it after you've crossed the line next time. He was followed by Shane (40 points), Cliff (35), Rawlston (33) then Rudy, Lee and Tashan (all 25).
Okay, I know you want more. Then came Paul (24), Wesley (23), James (22), Luke (21) and Matthew (20). Everyone else scored less than 20 points over the season and will just have to try harder next year.
