That's more like it. Some excellent performances and a third place for the B team at Ladywell on Saturday. We beat two teams above us in the League and got pretty close to two promotion contenders. With twenty competing athletes and loads of guests, there's life in the old dog yet.

There were B Team debuts for Tom Warr and Ricardo Twumasi, who won both of his events. Back in the team for the first time this season were Paul Egboh, Pablo Lazo and Howard Frost, who set a new B Team record in the pole vault as well as winning both of his track events. We were also delighted to see once again Leon George, talented jumper, sprinter, thrower and philosopher we thought had left the country. Turns out he'd just lost his mobile phone. Lord Lucan, that bloke from the Manic Street Preachers and the racehorse Shergar are rumoured to be turning out for the next match. Man of the Match was, controversially, Trevor
Jamieson-Agard, who got fourteen out of a possible fifteen points in his three events. This included - and here's a sentence I never thought I'd write - a majestic victory in the A string 400m hurdles. I've spent three days racking my brains but just haven't been able to come up with a good reason not to give him Man of the Match.

Results and updated B team records attached, as is the latest League Table. Ah, yes, sorry to darken the mood but we're still fifth from bottom, which means relegation unless we move up a place after the last match at Bournemouth on 2nd August. If you want to see who we're up
against and work though all the possible permutations, then look here:

Personally, I think we can get a better result than Milton Keynes and that's our best chance.
