Hard to believe, but we think we’ve come up with some improvements for our 11th Race. Now just 3 miles south
of Tunbridge Wells the start/finish is elevated to the main park entrance on the A26.The route as always is traffic
free, through the historic Deer Park and Ancient Woodland.A privileged and unique chance to run over private
land. With stunning views your run will take in a HaHa, three beautiful Lakes, two Weirs, Sandstone Outcrops,
a Saxon Fort, and a Cricket Pitch. The hilly 10-mile (approx!) one-lap course is on tracks, grass and woodland
trails – it will,we hope, be delightfully muddy in places and some sections are steep, rutted and narrow. Appropriate
footwear, ie trail shoes or ‘knobblies’ is highly recommended. Off-road parking.
Beer tent. Refreshments.Toilets. Regret no showers and definitely NO DOGS .
Open to individuals (18or over)and teams of three.
Awards to1st,2nd,3rd; Vetcategories and1st Team(M&F).
After 10 years of the same course we felt you deserved a change and have worked hard to devise a new route through the Park.
A lot will be familiar to you but we've added a host of new discoveries which even surprised us!
Although the start/finish location has changed we think you will agree it's a big improvement. There's a breathtaking downhill just after you begin which affords a wonderful view of the first lake and the entire park! We've also weaved into your run some very atmospheric sections of woodland which are seldom visited except by the deer.
We will of course look after you with our legendary course marking and marshalling, not to mention our signature beer tent 'The Never Again Arms'. |
