A number of Kent AC athletes were competing in the London Schools X Country Championships on Wednesday, the 28th, at the always testing Parliament Hill course. Today was no exception with conditions very soggy.

In the junior boys Josh Hall demonstrated the talent he undoubtedly possesses by very nearly winning the race. Josh has been injured and done very little training of late but still came very close to winning the race. He was just pipped at the post-losing by the narrowest of margins but his second place was an extremely encouraging performance.

George Quinn was perhaps a little below par in the intermediate boys finishing ninth. However, knowing George, he will likely come good in the National and therefore allow Ken to have him as one of his picks for London Team in the inter counties schools to be held at Northampton.

In the last race of the day Alfie Grimsey ran a solid race to finish third behind two quality runners. Not far behind Alfie was Jeremy Holt in 4th position further evidence of his steady improvement throughout the season.
