| Details | The 2009 Southend 10K Classic is organised by Southend Athletic Club and sponsored by Original Sports will be held on Sunday 4th October. There will also be a children’s fun run of approximately 3k which is open to children aged 11-14 years on the day. The current race records are 28m 49s (men) and 33m 18s (women). The course is virtually flat and is mostly run along the seafront. With co-operation of Southend Borough Council and Essex Police we are now able to provide a traffic free course.
