Another total demolition of the opposition in the league --- but even more comprehensive than the others this year ! We had 9 men home in the top 10 and our last scorer, Rawlston Morian, came in 14th, with a brave run after falling, to close the 10 man team race with a record low score for the league.
After a mile our 8 officials (we were co-hosting the fixture) were cheered up by the sight of 3 Kent AC vests forming the leading pack before second claimer, Nick Torry, making his debut pulled away to win comfortably. James Connor and new recruit John Gilbert kept swopping places before James gained a 20m lead by the end as they pulled away from the rest. Really solid runs from Rich Munn (5th), Michael Claff (6th ), Andrew Dunwoody (7th ), Andy Morton (8th ), Lee Haze (9th) and Phil Sanders (10th ) completed a great day over the country for the club.
Richard Archer improved 13 places on his first run in the league and gave us some backup, but we do need a lot more of our middle range runners involved if we are to get out the 20 runners in the club who can benefit from racing at this level.
Not to be outdone our Junior athletes responded well to the loud vocal encouragement of the Seniors by all three of them having excellent runs. Lead home by George Quinn in a superb 3rd place in the combined race for Div 2, 3 &4 he was backed up well by Robbie Fraser ,making his debut for the club, in 9th place. Cormac Whitney-Low was only just behind him and his super run earned him 3rd place in the U15 category to close a great weekend as the news of our Veterans winning the Kent County Vets Team title came through.

Well done to all who competed - I think we must be set to win the league with a record number of points. Just to remind you South of Thames 7.5 mile rece next saturday in Wimbledon (James will send out details) and on the 9th Jan the County Champs in Detling, Kent (12km) (again James will send out details). Both the above competitions have 6 and 12 to score competitions and we are in with a good shot at all four titles if we all turn ot and have good races.

And finally a word from James:
Firstly, well done to all who ran in the Surrey League on Saturday, another solid performance and yet another team win. We are now just one race away from securing promotion to Division 3. Next league race is in February
The next 3 races on the calender are 'big' races for the club. First up is the South of Thames 7.5 mile race on 19th December at Wimbledon Common. This race also doubles up as our club championship (club trophy and medal on offer) and is perfect preparation for the County Championships in January, which is the same distance. The race has a 6 to score event and a 12 to score event, and I believe we can challenge for both. To do this though, we do need 12 runners at least!
I am aware that it is that time of the year when work christmas parties come around, and many of you have informed me that you are attending parties next week. If you are having xmas parties next week and plan on running, please do not knock yourself out with training in the latter stages of the week. If you are partying on the Friday night and worried about racing on the Saturday, don't worry too much - 7.5 miles is not a fast race, you can take your time to get into the race, and besides, i am sure other clubs will have members who will also have xmas parties on!
If you intend on doing the race please let me know. I plan on meeting at Waterloo station for 11:30 infront of the entrance to platform 13
