Thanks to all 9 people who took part in the County Senior mens race on a freezing cold day in Detling and secured us a team bronze medal in the 6 to score event. The team was led home by James Connor in 4th, who had to battle the last lap to hold off Ben Wiffen of Tonbridge (Ladywell based) who had a storming run. Next home was John Gilbert who also had a solid debut run finishing in 6th.
Andrew Dunwoody and Rich Munn were in a race with Barry Royden, Pat Curran and Gareth Williams of Medway - Andrew finishing ahead of all and Rich sandwiched in the middle. Andrew Pickett rallied in the later stages, despite a hip injury coming home in a creditable 29th place, with Lee Haze securing the medals in 34th, and Luke Armitage chasing him all the way finishing in 37th. Mick Barlow also came home strong and was not far from the scoring 6 finishing 46th. Stuart Scott was the final man home for us, beating 'old boy' (traitor!) Steve Julia of Medway (Stuart 79th and Steve 81st).
Unfortunately we only had 9 runners so could not contest in the 12 to score. Tonbridge won the 6 to score with 6 runners in the top 12, Medway were 2nd.
