Kent AC's B Team took their winning run to TWO matches at Guildford on Saturday, taking them to a point away from the promotion places with two matches to go. There were some British League standard performers on show during the afternoon, but we were the only team that maintained a good level across all of the events and ended as easy winners after pulling away from Windsor in the last few events of the afternoon.
Highlights included a new B Team record in the javelin from Max Hall, making a welcome appearance for us after missing out on the last British League match; well-deserved pb's for Quazar Mays and Emmanuel Adebayo; Rawlston running again; Kehinde falling over again; and two excellent relay teams. Quazar came close to Man of the Match for his two pb's at the match and two phone numbers on the train, but he was edged out by Albert Johnson's 16 points and admirable team spirit in the field.
A few of us had a quiet drink afterwards, from which I learnt that it's good to eat during the day before going on a six hour bender; that Leytonstone is a very expensive taxi ride from Waterloo; and that Andy Moreton and Andrew Dunwoody would finish neck-and-neck in a race measuring 837 metres. Let that be a lesson to you.
Climb aboard for the next match at Walton on 10th July, which looks like a tough one so we'll be needing you. Right, I'm off home thank you very much, leaving you to read the fascinating attachments.
