A convincing win for the B Team at Crawley on Saturday, taking our winning streak to TWO matches and putting us top of Division 2 South.
Man of the Match was Andrew Dunwoody, who agreed to do the 400m hurdles for the A Team and enabled us to keep Shaun Mulligan. Only joking Shaun, your fantastic team spirit and 15 point haul ensured that the Man of the Match medal will be placed onto your sweaty palm at the club presentation in January, shortly before the monochrome buffet. Along with Shaun, we now have a group of reliable big points scorers, who all performed well again at Crawley: Courtney (14 points), Albert (11), Rawlston (10) and Trevor (9). Surely one of these five will be the B Team Man of the Season.
Three athletes made their B Team scoring debuts: Stuart Beaney and Alex Moreau in the 5k, and Mark Hall in the 400m, 4x400m relay and pole vault. Guess which one of those events Mark hadn't been expecting to do. Thanks to Ken's coaching, Chris Greenwood made the most impressive steeplechase debut we've seen in ages, and Richard Archer took so much off his pb in the same race I thought he still had a lap to go.
All aboard for the next match at Woking on 9th July. It's important now that we don't get complacent, that we keep our focus and pull out all the stops, and generally get as many cliches into our sentences as possible until the end of the season.
Until then, comrades
Rob
