Kent AC dominate again at the South of Thames X-Country Championships at Tattenham Corner on Saturday 25th November. Kent's cross country runners secured 19 medals in this year's prestigious five mile South of the Thames Cross Country championships at the Epsom race course, home of the Derby.
After a century of little success in this race, Kent AC have now won the four to score competition five times in the last six years. The eight to score trophy was won again and the women's team gained team medals for the first time. James Connor, Rawlston Morian and Joe Rutherford also won individual medals.
The morning rain left the course damp with blustery wind and heavy grass better suited to four legged runners, making going difficult. James Connor said he found it difficult to get into any sort of running rhythm. Nevertheless he chased winner Hugh Evans of Tonbridge hard all the way and at one stage in the final lap looked like he may catch him. Fortunately, no one threw themselves under the feet of the runners as they charged away from the start at Tattenahm Corner, and the rain held off until we were all safely in the pub.

Rawlston and Joe were delighted to get their individual 2nd and 3rd place Junior medals. The 7.5 mile Championship, that Kent AC have yet to win, is at Brockwell Park in December.
