Young Athletes

Kent AC has a strong squad of young athletes who compete on the track, road and country. Members of our squad regularly get selected to run for Lewisham Borough in inter-London championships, with some going on to represent London at a national level.

Unfortunately, we do not currently run any training sessions for athletes under 14 years old. For this younger age-group "Sportshall" is an ideal introduction to athletics, see the links on our Links Page

Here is the latest news on events where Kent AC young athletes have competed:

The Southern road relays are on Sat 27th Sept. Book in diaries. It is Aldershot as usual. We're looking for a strong M40 and M50 teams, so Luke says no excuses. It would be good if you could race either assembley league at beckenham or club 5000m so the selectors can have a look at current form.

Southern League match report from Chelmsford

Oh dear, another bad day for the B team in Essex (is there any other sort of day in Essex?). We were up against exceptionally strong opposition and there were some good performances, but we'll always struggle in this Division when we can't fill all of the events.

Southern League at Woking

SLWoking2008

On the face of it disappointing- fifth and last. However, considering our very slim resources it was probably as good as could be expected. The small select band who competed did well. Rawlston and Trevor covered a lot of events whilst Theo got a PB in the 800.
