RESULTS
Club Champs
The final night of Club Champs action saw some close competition with the youngsters taking to the fore in the 800m as Joseph Yee sealed the win in 2:04 just ahead of Lucas Zurdo in 2:05 with Stanley Forman taking third in 2:08. Victoria Stepanova took the women’s crown in 2:28 with Vic Buck finishing in 2:39 just ahead of Dee O’Brien.
In the short stuff, Louis Wampler showed his fine sprinting style to take the win in 11.4 ahead of some good competition in Leslie Lartey (11.8) and Dan Eliassen (12.5). Dee O’Brien took another club title in the women’s 100m in 16.5 with Heather Castle and Miki Jablkowska filling the podium places.
See Ben Cook’s email for full results. Many thanks to all the volunteers for getting some races going!
Dorney Lake Marathon
At the same time as the elites were looping around St. James’ Park in wet and windy weather, three Kent runners, desperate for a marathon themselves, were looping around Dorney Lake. First home was Ben Cook in a big PB of 2:36:01 with David Mohring (2:38:43) not far behind with Jonathan Beatty completing the trio of PBs in 2:44:30 in far from ideal conditions, so well done guys!
Virtual London Marathon
Plenty of Kent action with runners pounding the streets to tick off the Virtual ’40th Race’. Technical mishaps with the apps and logging runs mean that not all runs will appear by this week’s publication deadline, however well done to the following who have successfully logged their run so far!
