The next SAL fixture takes place next Sunday 11 July at Sutcliffe Park, Eltham. It will follow a similar timetable to the previous event but this time will have a 3000m for men and 5000m for women. The steeplechase will be 3000m for men and 1500m for women.
For those new to the club – this is a great opportunity to see how track meets work and put down a track distance PB! All abilities are welcome and encouraged to sign up to run.
We are currently short on both athletes and volunteers for this event. Please add yourself to the spreadsheet if would like to compete.
The timetable can be found at: Southern Athletics League Timetable. Feel free to contact Ian Ellwood or Vic Buck if you have any questions.

JUNIOR GROUP UPDATES
Following ‘Taster’ Saturday junior membership has grown considerably. 50+ new members have been added with more new joiners in the pipeline.
However this success has placed considerable pressure on our coaching resources and as a result the junior sub-committee has reluctantly agreed that in order to maintain the EA guideline ratio of 1/12 (coach/athlete) and to ensure we deliver a consistent experience for existing junior members we should pause recruitment.
Junior applications being processed or in discussion will still be encouraged to join. Non-members attending training on Tuesday 6th July will be similarly informed and offered the opportunity to join.
From Wednesday 7th July non-members will be invited to join a waiting list and ‘taster’ opportunities on Tuesday evening’s will be suspended until further notice.
If you have friends with youngsters who are considering joining then please let them know.
Our priority is to build the junior coaching infrastructure to the next level with particular emphasis on field disciplines.
When we are confident we have the coaches in place to restart recruitment we’ll prioritise those on the waiting list and provide them with ‘taster’ opportunities.
A waiting list notice and link will be added to the club website this weekend.
Junior applications made via the club website will be put on hold after Sunday 11th July and applicants informed accordingly.
This is a success story that has pleasantly surprised us all but maintaining the quality of experience is our first and foremost priority.
