OLYMPIANS LIGHT UP THE TRACK
A BIG thank you to Alex for being extremely generous with his time over the course of the evening at Ladywell Arena. We look forward to continuing to follow and cheer on your journey!
We were also extremely lucky to have Nick McCormick, past Olympian and New Balance brand manager there as well on the evening. Paul Crompton has captured footage of the evening which we look forward to sharing with you soon!

SOUTHERN ATHLETICS LEAGUE
There were many performances of note including:
Katie Rowland dominated the 3000m
Jen Berg perfectly timed her finish to win the 1500m
Nathan Brown won the mens 200m
Peter Lighting went from the gun to win the mens 5000m despite a strong challenge from newcomer Cameron who finished second
Max Harbord seemed to do every event. It was particularly impressive when he finished the 100m, went straight to the long jump and came straight back to get a PB of 53s in the 400M
Tracey Griffiths is a stalwart at the SAL. As our only dedicated thrower she provided much needed points once again by covering all four throws. She also offered lots of helpful advice to those of us less able at throwing events
Having relay teams at the end of the day was fantastic. Apparently these points pushed us into third place on the day. We think this is our best points total. This is not just down to these fantastic individual performances. Many people were trying events for the first time and really built on our score
The next fixture is at Norman Park In Bromley on September 11th. Let’s get a huge team out and set our best score next. There is no minimum standard and everyone is welcome.
Please add yourself to the spreadsheet if would like to compete. If you are able to volunteer, do get in touch. The timetable can be found at: Southern Athletics League Timetable. Feel free to contact Ian Ellwood or Vic Buck if you have any questions.
