Training Groups

Our training groups are made up of all levels of runners from South East London, and some further afield.

Training groups normally operate at the club (Ladywell track, Lewisham) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from about 7:00pm to 8:30pm and Saturday mornings from around 10:00am to 11:30am.

During November to March, however, the sprint group's Thursday session may be held as a circuits session at Sedgehill School.

There are a number of organised groups who train with qualified coaches.

- Head Sprints Coach/Adviser
Ken Pike - Middle distance running (seniors)
Pete Boxshall - Middle distance running (U20s + U17s)
Dennis Fairbrass - 5km, 10km etc. (seniors)
Andy Gardner, Ted Hadlow - middle distance (U15s)
Joe Appiah - Sprints/Jumps/Hurdles
Albert Johnson - Throws
Clive Carr, Russ Frost - Sprints (U17s + U15s)

For those people who prefer a less structured session, smaller groups of people of a similar standard team up and run their own sessions. These smaller groups are more suitable for people progressing from 'fun running' and those making a 'comeback'!

Non-members are always welcome to join our training groups.

If you are interested please come along - you don't need to be a member of the club to join in. The best times to come for a look at what goes on at the track would be around 7:30 to 8:30pm on Tuesday evenings or 10:30 to 11:30 on Saturdays (if there isn't an "away" match on).
