KENT AC IS RUNNER UP CLUB OF THE YEAR!
A well-dressed deputation from Kent AC (John Barron, juniors sec; Vic Buck and Len Reilly, co- presidents) attended the England Athletics London Region Volunteer Awards last Tuesday. It was at London City Runners’ clubhouse in a Bermondsey railway arch.
Pictured below is a proud Vic receiving our award for runner up in the ‘club of the year’ category. A first all round.
This is a worthy recognition of the many wonderful, and new things, the club is doing, and the huge number of people who make them happen. From the growth of the juniors section to over 100 members, to gate volunteers, and summer socials, and more coaching, this award reflects the achievements of many across the club! Thank you and well done!
Big thanks to John for leading on our application.
(Now, for all you trivia fans out there… who is Vic receiving the award from?
Clue: possibly the UK’s finest post-war cross country runner, at least in domestic competition. And a south Londoner. Answers on a postcard please)
