SURREY LEAGUE RESULTS AND A CALL TO ARMS FOR THE NATIONALS
In the men’s race, XC and club legend John Gilbert ran a strong race for 3rd place (and first V40) with Owen Hind backing up his bronze at last week’s Kent County champs with 10th place.
In the women’s race, Katie Rowland continued her brilliant XC season with an 11th place in a strong field followed by Sarah Hanley (24th) and Alexa Parker (38th).
There were some fantastic performances in the junior races with Mei Eden-Green (44th) and Alice Hales (51st) in the U13 girls race and Olly Buck (16th), Theo Gaymes (30th) and Guy Barnett (71st) in the U15/U17 boys race. A well deserved result for Olly Buck for the way he attacked the race, coming 7th in the U15s.At the time of writing the team scores are yet to be finalised.
We have one last Surrey League fixture on 19 February at Effingham Common and it would be fantastic to see as may runners out as we can for all teams. Even if you are yet to run a XC this season or are new to the club, please consider running.
National XC on Sat 26 February at Parliament Hill
