NATIONAL XC – SENIOR ROUNDUP
There are few greater sights in English Athletics than Dame Dibaba leading two thousand runners up Parliament Hill at the English Country Country Champs.
The Nationals returned to Hampstead Heath for the first time since 2018, with Alex Yee producing a fantastic late charge to finish third, behind Mahamed Mahamed and Emile Cairess. To learn more about the overall victories in the Senior Men’s and Women’s click here.
The Kent AC Senior Men’s team finished 13th, with John Gilbert (37th), Noah Armitage-Hookes (95th), Cameron Dockerill (184th), Chris McGurk (208th) and Dame (238th) as the rest of the scorers.
Kent AC finished 14th in the Senior Women’s race, with Katie Rowland leading the charge in 64th place. Sarah Hanley (70th), Jennifer Berg (145th) and Alexa Parker (149th) the other scorers. A big shout must also go to Amelia Pettitt finishing 21st running for her first claim club Vale Royal, continuing a fantastic comeback post-injury.
Well done to all runners who turned out in North London yesterday. There are fewer courses tougher than the mud of Parliament Hill and it was great to see so many Kent AC vests out there.
The full results from all races are available here.
If you want to watch the races you can do on the England Athletics YouTube page.

NATIONAL XC – JUNIOR ROUNDUP
Report by Ian Ellwood (Juniors coach)
What a beautiful day at the most iconic of cross country courses Parliament Hill. Was it me, or was the mud stickier than usual?
Well done to all those who completed, there were some fantastic results. The national cross country is one of the most challenging and rewarding races in the calendar. Although the finishing positions seem high, we must remember that we are racing the very best runners in the country. This makes it a fantastic comparison year on year to look for progress in finishing position.
First up were the U15 boys. Olly Buck was first home setting a fantastic example of how to run cross country finishing 55th. His hard work is really paying off and it was great to seem him demonstrate his talent with a fantastic result. Jasper continued his fast rise up the ranks as our second finisher in 247th just over 90 seconds behind. This is a great marker and I am sure Jasper will continue his rapid improvement and challenge for the higher positions next year.
The next race was the U13 girls. It was great to see Elena Oliphant challenging for the lead at the top of the first climb as she continues to build consistency. Our first finished was Mei quickly followed by Tallulah Jones three places back but recording the same time! These two traded places throughout the race in a great battle. Alice was our next athlete home and should be pleased with her progress throughout the season.
In the U13 boys race we had George and Lucas. Both ran incredibly well to finish 156 and 295 respectively.
In the mens U17 race we had Henry, Theo and Guy who packed well to have a great race.
